Some things I've learned:
- Fontpimp doesn't give one whit where the original TTF file is - I've had
equal successes/failures from floppies, ProDOS partitions, HFV partitions,
and AppleShare mounts.
- Unless you use "Open" instead of "Accept" for your very first conversion,
it appears that you will get nowhere fast. Once you've done this, Fontpimp
will generally work reliably after that. Go figure.
- "Older" TTF files are more likely to convert successfully than new ones.
For instance, 100% of the fonts off of the Windows 95 CD will convert, but
only a shade over half the ones on the Windows 98 SE CD will convert. YMMV.
Obviously, it would be nice if we could get an update to handle these 'new'
fonts, but I consider that about as likely as ROM 04 machines going on sale
tomorrow at K-Mart. ;)
If anyone has specific questions about Fontpimp that I might be able to
answer (though I've pretty much said it all right here), feel free to drop
me a line on here or by regular e-mail.
