    What you have there is an ImageWriter II/L. Released in 1989, its
main difference is the inclusion of a 24K RAM buffer (built-in) and a
smaller powersupply that draws less current. You could still add a
LocalTalk option board but from what I recall, it did _not_ support
memory expansion any longer.

    You can easily identify one because the power and serial plugs 
are located on the left and right sides on the printer, rather than the
back legs. An icon is present above the power switch and the 
printer is noticeably lighter.
