OK for those of you who are more gullible than other, that last post is
dangerous.  If you place a HD disk onto a speaker magnet, it will
magnatize the disk with a strong field.  If you then place this disk in
your floppy drive you will most undoubtedly magnatize the head.  If the
head is magnatized it will not read your disks, it will erase them.

Only erase disks by formatting them.  If they do not take a format,
throw them away as they will be unreliable.
