Did you set up ADT for 19200 bps?  It is rather quick if
you set the speed right.  I use Z-Link all the time to connect
to the PC at 38K bps.  I don't have a hardware handshake
cable and it works fine.  You have to make sure you are
using the same parameters on both ends.  Try using Xon/Xoff
if hardware handshaking don't work.  I can't get it to work
with Z-Link on my machine using hardware handshaking but
I can transmit at 38K. Apple ? will give you the commands
available.  Set up the comm port on the IIgs to the right speed
8 bits no parity and play with the handshaking.  Make sure the
PC has the same settings.  You should then be able to type
characters on one end and appear on the other end. If that
works, try transmitting a file.
