The IIgs used a different chip for serial connections than the one in the
SSC. For the purposes of speed, most programs for the SSC programed the
metal, and therefore won't work with the IIgs. Sorry. As the other two posts
have pointed out, the most popular programs for the IIgs are Spectrum and
ProTerm. Spectrum has the advantage of allowing you to use SIS, and an email
addon (I can't remember its name), and it will work over an ethernet
connection, should you add an ethernet card. ProTerm is claimed to be faster
and more stable, but I can't verify or deny that.
