    Well, it's always been a goal of mine to upgrade my Apple IIgs
to THE fullest potential possible, using available plug in parts.
I'm not quite 100% there, but feel I'm fairly close all these years
later. It should answer your question for the most part... :)

Motherboard: ROM 3 (with 8 Megabyte RAM total)

Slots:

1: Second Sight/1MB - SVGA graphic card
2: Audio Animator - stereo sound in/out plus MIDI
3: ZipGSX - 15 MHz/64K cache accelerator
4: Quickie card - optical hand-scanner interface
5: Video Overlay Card - Genlock and enhanced TV-out
6: Apple II 3.5 Disk Controller Card - Support for FDHD floppy
7: RamFAST/1MB - DMA SCSI controller
Mem slot: CV-RAM/7MB

Hardrive: 

- Pegasus internal SCSI enclosure (80w powersupply with fan)*
- Quantum LPS 240 MB hardisk installed in Pegasus
*(I wired a LED underneath the GS's main power LED, so whenever
my hardrive is accessed, the green LED changes to orange. Neat!)

External SCSI devices:

- Conner Peregrine 2 GB SCSI tape drive
- Apple 300e Plus 2x CD-ROM
- IBM 1.2 GB hardisk (not presently connected)

Floppy drives:

- Apple SuperDrive (1.44MB)
- Apple 3.5 Drive (800K)

- System Saver IIgs - external fan and surge-outlet 
- Audio Animator external mixer - volume sliders, MIDI and sound  I/O
- Quickie 400 DPI hand-scanner

- Bose Roommate stereo speakers 
- Standard IIgs ADB keyboard and mouse
- ImageWriter II/L
- AppleColor RGB 12" monitor
- NEC MultiSync 3D 14" monitor (not presently connected)
- "Woz: Limited Edition" lid cover

    Also since my IIgs shares the same desk as my PC, it has access to
a 56K modem, 17" monitor, speakers with sub-woofer and MIDI access
through a Roland SCC-1.

    It's also interesting to note I've filled every slot and used
every port opening in the back (in fact I've had to label each of 
the 7 port openings so I know which connector is which heh).

    That's just one of my Apple IIgs's of course... :)
