Re: interface card for the PC to read & write apple2e floppies

I actually want to make the controller card for the PC. Will the 51/4
drives themselves work with the disks if I make a custom controller card? or
what specific 51/4 drives will read and write them? This is my first apple
computer, I have 2 mac plus's but I havent used them much at all.
All I really want to do is be able to transfer files to the Apple 2e disks,
but not actually use them in an emulator or such.

I only have an apple IIe with Duo Disk (5 1/4"), Super Serial II card, 80
col/64k card. (just got it last week)
I have done everything with PC's so far, but these apples are an interesting
animal!
