It is a Quickdraw printer and hence only works in a Quickdraw

Nope, A Deskjet is a dual port printer. It has both a Serial and a Parallel
port to use.

Again, a Deskwriter is a Quickdraw printer and all fonts are done using
Quickdraw. GS/OS supports Quickdraw but Prodos doesn't. Prodos needs
a character based printer like the Deskjet 500.
