I'm sure this has been asked before, but how many of you still have and use your first Apple II-series computer? I still have and use daily my //c, which my family bought for me for Christmas 1986. If I recall the CPU, color composite monitor, and joystick cost $1200 or thereabouts. The monitor gave up the ghost a couple years back, and the "brick" recently blew a capacitor (which I still need to replace). But the CPU is still going strong. Rob McAllister
I sold my first two Apples (II+ and a //e clone). I still use my GS for something which is actually useful. I use it to create some of the articles in my magazine (link below). I have three more GSs to experiment with when I can find the time. And I have one more to go out to an aunt who needs a computer.
As a user group we could have gotten 200 more but the person who said she'd drop off the request waited until she was a day late. All the machines were sent to be shredded in the States. Apparently all sorts of cards and external devices went too.
