AE said in their advertizing "GS-RAM Ultra expands from 256k to 4 MEG in
256k increments" Likely wouldn't make much sense using that particular memory
chips if you had to use 1mb increments. regular ones were cheaper.
The IIgs itself appears to no problem with odd sizes. I spent a year adding
chips 2 or 4 at a time to a RamPac4GS. Must have gone through almost every
possible memory size before it filled
