got ya on Colombo but you lost me on the other one, is that a US TV show
(I'm an Aussie) ?
Trying the drive in another slot is a simple thing to do. Even trying slot-6
if your cables won't allow moving it further away is pretty easy and you can
live without any 5.25's for 10 mins. Just remember to set slot 6 to your
card, 7 to AppleTalk, and 1 or 2 to Your Card for the LocalTalk connector.

hmmm... if the old system didn't use AppleTalk it'd be fine in slot-7. The
original Woz Signature ROM-0 will not run System 6.0.1, you need a ROM-1 or
ROM-3 motherboard. But that shouldn't be an issue if it was running 6.0.1
before.

Well... I'd like to think the Apple ][ will survive to the 21st century, but
I doubt that I ever will. :) (ie. we are in the 20th Century now)
I only just discovered the power of AppleTalk for myself a month ago. Now I
need more LocalTalk kits to make full use of it. 2x GSs and 2x Macs and an A
ppleTalk IW2 just sucks with 3 kits. More lead swapping than I was doing
with floppys before.
And burning all my disk images is what I have as a major task too.
Unfortunately a lot of old 5.25 stuff can't be done due to protection, so
extra backups are the only option.

I got assistance here, never played with Mac's at all until late last year.
