You probably know a great deal more about the history of the ANSI standard
than I, since I am old enough to know it and young enough to have avoided
what was (from my understanding) a long approval process. It is also worth
noting that CodeWarrior 9 Gold must be based on a lat draft of ANSI C++.

Yes, but you are comparing Canuck dollars to Yankee dollars. The numbers,
roughly speaking, do work out. Besides, on brute force comparison,
CodeWarrior 9 Gold crushes Opus II. That is, of course, irrelevant if you
plan on targetting the Apple II.

Okay, so that was a bad way to put it. But, in general, I enjoy poking
around old computers because of their virtues. Virtues which I have
difficulty seeing in new computers. Whether the computer is an Apple II,
an Amiga, an Atari, or the Macintosh, I could care less. I simply prefer
the Apple II because it was a machine I had a great deal of fun on at an
earlier age.

Then you are lucky indeed, since original Apple software in these parts is
elusive.

: It looks great for mine. And for many of my friends. Either you are looking
: in the right places, or you haven't been willing to spend a little.
My budget is quite finite, so watching expenses are quite necessary. The
Macintosh simply give me more to explore for the same dollar.
