It's been a year or two since I've been inside a //c, but I don't recall an
"internal half of the power supply". The //c+ has an internal transformer
(is that the right word?) but it gets the room from having a 3.5" disk drive
instead of a 5.25" disk drive.
The AE cards for the //c only worked because of the space between the
motherboard and keyboard was JUST enough to allow a card to plug into the
CPU socket (and another chip's socket as I recall) and allow the CPU to plug
into a socket on the memory expansion card.
I doubt that you could do what you wish with the //c. The //c+ is another
matter entirely.
