I guess it's a good thing I have the Neptune card then :-)

What exactly do you mean that ProDOS won't recognize the extra memory? Isn' t it
ProDOS that gives you the one-key disk operation? I was sure that's where I found
the utility to list the ][e's memory and slot info which shows it at 128K. Or can
it detect it but just not actually utilize it? (I am still new to this but I was
pretty sure it was ProDOS).

As a thrift store find I do consider myself very lucky to find the accelerator.
Especially when I expected to open the box to find a Tempest clone (it was a box for
"tubeway"). I think your reasoning is right; the majority of one of the two disk
boxes is nothing but games. Which slot does the accelerator card go in? I
currently have the 'aux' port filled (with the neptune), slot 1 has the Super Serial
Card in it, and slot 6 has the I/O controller for my Duodisk. I know the 'never use
slot 3 when using auxillary cards' rule, but which of the other slots should I use.

As many times as I've passed up Apple ][e's at thrift stores I think I picked a good
one to finally buy. Besides I ended up buying the whole kit and kaboodle (CPU w/
Kensington system saver, monitor ][, duodisk, imagewriter, plus software) for around
$10. What's really laughable is the same day I went ahead and bought a Commodore
Vic-20. It gives me a little perspective as to how amazing the ][e was for it's time
(even compared to C64s). Of course then again I also bought a Pentium 100 machine in
my thrift store haul saturday. It's nice to know I have a ][e that was well loved
:-)
