Hellow fellow Apple II users!
By sheer luck I ran across an expansion card labled "Echo Commander".
After reading the Echo FAQ (thank you Rubywand) I found that it was a
speech synthesis card. I jumpered the Apple audio terminals to the
echo card, and I found that pins 1 and 3 (I think) on the 5-pin DIN
audio connector relayed the normal apple sounds. However, when I
attempted using the Textalker and other echo disks to produce speech
output, I did not hear anything.
I do not have the original speaker that came with the card.
Specifically, I would like the pinout of the DIN connector, since all
5 pins are connected to the card. Does this have something to do with
the fact that I have an Echo Commander card instead of an Echo II? If
so, what does an Echo Commander card do?
Thanks for any advice you may have.
