An efficient accelerated-DOS patch of mine, SPL, was published on Micro
n.68 (January 1984); I had used it for years both for internal use and
for my commercial software.
I don't think I can legally reproduce the Micro article, but I plan to
publish the code together with my Apple II stuff, as freeware of course. 
Unfortunately that will take time, as I am a bit overworked. In the
meantime, whoever finds the code is free to use it, as far as I am
concerned.
