I just hooked up a third UniDisk 3.5 to my IIc smartport (I also have a
Disk IIc 5.25 in the end of the chain). Before I turned the computer on,
I inserted disks in each of the UniDisks so I could test them together.
When I turned the IIc on, the built-in 5.25 drive didn't make its usual
chatter, and an assortment of characters appeared on the screen. When I
did a three-finger reboot everything was fine.
When I ran Beaglewrite (the only program I have on a 3.5 disk at the
moment), it read the disk in the third UniDisk 3.5, which it considered
a slot 2-1 device.
Anyway, out of curiosity, why did my IIc react as it did when I turned
it on? (It only happens when all three UniDisks are loaded.) Would this
same problem occur if I had a IIc-compatable hard disk, 2 UniDisk 3.5s,
and the Disk IIc 5.25 in the chain?
Thanks.
