I believe the Imagewriter is merely some other manufacturer's machine.
Apple "acquired" the printer specs, and relabeled it as their own. So,
the REAL question is, what printer was it before Apple got ahold of
it?

I recall the Imagewriter I, and then an earlier printer almost exactly
like it mechanically, but in a different, more yellow case to match
the early Apple II's, and with a different name..


(For a modern example of Apple's printer rebranding, check out the
Stylewriter 4500. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, this thing looks suspiciously like an
HP DeskWriter, and even seems to use a similar set of printer drivers
-- even though those too have Apple's name on them. The Stylewriter I
has a PC counterpart, too -- with a parallel port, even!)
