I refer to previous email reporting on TCP/IP connection problems with the
Marinetti 2.0 package

-->  I've did a deja-search on articles on how-to prepare the PPP-script
which seems to be a more reliable approach.  I found a CSA2 posting dated to
12-01-98 where an example script for connecting to AOL was adviced.  I
adjusted the routine to my ISP provider,  and can now make successful
connection and disconnections without system crashes!

The connect time is quite long 90-120 seconds, which is longer than
expected, and the wait-parameter had to be extended to 4800 instead of
default 2400.   Any advice on how to trim down the connect time would be
appreciated.

SAM application:  Server Settings.
I've a question regarding the setup-of the SAM application.  There is a
input field designated 'maildrop' on  the mail-server settings dialog.  Is
this the harddrive location for placing retrieved email?  I'm not sure on
what to fill in here!  It seems I cannot successfully send emails from SAM
yet, which means the 'maildrop' may be related to the ISP mailserver?

GS/OS related?   International letter-char. support / German-style letters:

I've noticed that I'm not able to produce the localised Nordic or German
letters on the system, even though these options are selected in 'Control
Panels --> General selection'   In 8-bit mode the characters are generated
as expected, but not in GS/OS System 6.01.

Do I need separate font-files to have these extra characters supported?
These characters could come in handy when using the SAM emailer!
