Probably a lot have. I was well on the way to finishing Level II and
doing a mini-review before coming down with winter plague. (So, instead of
battling gross creatures in the maze, I just curled up in a chair and watched
gross creatures battle over election returns.) It will be good to get back
into the adventure.

Yes; there are some improvements over Wizardry.

That's about the only way to get humans going in a party. Actually,
there's a quirk in the way attribute points are distributed for new
characters which makes elves you best choice for several classes. Even so, I
eventually added a human because one of my favorite characters is supposed to
be human.
By the way, beginning characters can get the money they need for decent
armor and weapons by creating extra characters and gromming their gold. (I
guess you can think of these as villagers who want to contribute to your
glorious quest!)

It's definitely a fun way to spend a long winter's night.
