Assuming you are refering to the name SCC.Manager, it is because it manages
the Zilog SCC chip which in the GS and Macs is the serial port chip. This
is a much more featureful chip than the 6850/6551 ACIAs previous Apple //
computers used. It handles the lowest level of the LocalTalk protocol by
itself.
