OK... so I finally rescued the old //c from the parents' basement. The
internal drive seems to have developed a mind of its own:
On DOS 3.3 disks, it boots up most of the way, then makes that wonderful
grinding noise a few times. Usually it will finish booting after this. It
also does this on boot disks with modified versions of 3.3. Needless to say,
this makes starting it up a real pain sometimes.
It loads Prodos disks without complaining at all. I'm assuming it's something
wrong with the drive itself, with the format of the disk causing the trouble.
So one question: I'm sure there is a way to trick the computer into thinking
the external drive (5.25) is the main drive. Anyone know how to do it?
