Roy, no matter our differences in the past, I must say that I have the
utmost respect for someone that has both DR DOS 6 and Novell Dos 7. Me, I
only have to find a copy of DR DOS 2-4, and IBM Dos 7, and the x86 dos's are
finished. If I find 2 copies of any, I'll see if I can get them to ya at
cost (this happens more than some might think, when I found novell dos, it
was 15 copies, all shrinkwrapped and all for $1).

The TRS model 2 actually had an arcnet card available. I don't know if this
would even fit in a model 3, don't know as much about them as I would like.
Also, I recently found plans for a do-it-yourself TRS arcnet card.

I have 5 or 6 arcnet hubs that would be given away at shipping cost, if that
were the problem. At the other end, linux seems to have an easy enough time
with them.
And I have to disagree, networking any computer or device is not "pushing
it", unless it's like an abacus or maybe the Babbage Difference Engine.
