No, people are still recommending them. There have been discussions of the
types of drives that work with Focus cards, for example, and the dma
problems with 8 megs on a Sirius card. Lots of people are still getting
their first Apple II and asking for boot disks and help. On the other end,
the ethernet guys are having a lot of success.
The piracy flamewars have died out, I guess, after people interested in the
Apple II got fed up and blocked the posts of the people who are only
interested in that topic.

Really? Since I got my IIgs my PC gets used less and less. ;)
My IIgs's are just for fun, I have gotten a lot of enjoyment from finding
upgrades (two TWGS cards, various SCSI cards and Vulcans, other cards) and
getting this all running.
Thanks again to all the people who answered questions about those, and to
you, Supertimer; you were a lot of help when I started out.
