Re: Funny thing, my iMac now recognizes all CD Roms as ProDOS volumes

<< Did you upgrade your system? >>
No upgrade since I bought it. I did install an external drive a couple of
months later, but that was a year and a half ago.
I'm running OS 8.6 on an iMac with a SmartFDD 1.44 Meg external floppy disk
drive by Microtech. I often transfer files back and forth from the iMac and
the Apple IIgs or IIe. The day after running the last ProDOS transfer, I
placed a CD Rom in the iMac and it told me "This disk is unreadable by this
computer. Do you wish to initialize the disk? Yes/No" The "options" for
initializing aren't the usual options. It lists "ProDOS OK" and a blank option
category only. No Mac or IBM options with the size listed. Even ProDOS always
lists the size ; never "OK."
Answering "Yes" or "No" results in the same action. The disk is ejected.

I've tried different CD-Roms with the same results. This is a little
worrysome since I've had to reinstall printer drivers and use an iMac OS disk
just to boot sometimes--and I'm certain that it will happen again.
