Philosophy of emulators

Right now I do all my Apple ][ work using the KEGS emulator running
under Linux. It does feel to me like a real Apple ][, and I use it as
such. I also have a real Apple IIGS that I purchased a year ago purely
for nostalgic reasons. At least I have a legal copy of the ROM 01. :*)

I've been reading that using emulators detract from the real feel of
using an Apple ][. Is this true?
