Re: IIe Games That Don't Work on the IIgs

I'm trying to do both however due to time it's mostly 1 rather than
2.

My setup is:

* ROM 3 IIGs
* Speed set to normal (IIe speed)
* 5.25 drive connected to the Smartport
* A 5.25 Disk II card (see step 3 below)

My current testing methodology is:

1. Attempt to boot the game
2. If the game boots play the game for a few moments to see if it
appears to work (no funny graphics glitches or other problems)
3. If the game fails to load I try it again with a 5.25 drive
connected to a real Disk II card

I'd like to test the games thoroughly but I just don't have the time
to play through each and every one (I've got hundreds of games to get
through).

Hopefully your cracks will fix the bulk of the games that aren't
working.  So far I've only run into a small handful of games that have
gameplay issues after they load.

* Crystal Castles - Graphics don't appear to be updated.  You can see
the gems disappear where Bentley is supposed to be moving, but he
stays stationary.  You can hear the rest of the game running as well
(enemies moving and such) but they don't appear on the screen.  The
game is actually playing though as I managed to stumble into a warp an
go to screen 3.

* Impossible Mission - There are funny white dots that appear behind
you where you move, like the graphics aren't being updated properly.
The game seems to play alright though.

* Mr. Robot - Same problem as IM but much worse.  The game is barely
playable because of the mess of graphics that end up all over the
screen.

* Night Flight - Some of the graphics don't load (only the cockpit).
No idea if the game is still playing or not because I don't know the
game, might be crashed.
