A few days ago, I made a statement about Dr. Tom having grafted his name on
several software titles.

Dr. Tom contacted me and denied quite vehemently that he has ever done any
such thing, and cited some people I could contact to verify his statement.

Let me say therefore that I was repeating gossip that I had seen in the
sysop lounge on Genie. I have no direct knowledge that Dr. Tom has ever done
any name grafting.

No one should ever repeat such slanderous gossip without having firsthand
knowledge of the situation. I apologize to you all, and I apologize to Dr.
Tom.
