Has anyone tried an A2 BitMouse card and an IBM optical serial mouse?

I really enjoy the LittleMouse, an optical mouse which was made for the Apple
II, and I'm planning on demonstrating it at an Apple II meeting, vs. an Apple
II optical-mechanical mouse, vs. a trackball mouse, vs. a mouse pen.  Mouse
Systems, which made/makes the LittleMouse is still in business, but hasn't
answered my emails about further purchases.

Could the BitMouse card (Sequential Systems, I think), which was designed to
use cheap IBM serial mice, be used with an IBM optical mouse?  Yes, I know that
a special mouse pad is needed.
