If there is a 65c816 in the SNES, I don't see it. Looks as if they bought
license from WDC, and rolled the core into 1 or more custom chips. One large
SOIC that is marked as S-WRAM, 2 smaller SOICs of the same part #, that my
guess would be as some sort of ram, were it not for the former chip. 3
identical form factor QFPs, 2 marked as PPU, the third is CPU. 100 pins
each. The one marked 'cpu' is of course the likely (only?) candidate for
being the 816, but this is going to be impossible to find pinouts for, and
who knows what they've done to this thing anyway. Was worth the $1 it cost
me, if for nothing else just to satisfy my curiiosity. ;-) If anyone has a
spare 65c816, preferably DIP, that they'd like to donate to a worthy cause,
I'd appreciate it. (Besides, I plan on giving the prototype to that
individual, after it's served it's purpose).
Thanks,
John Oyler
