Let _them_ send the letter, if they so desire. They are not powerless and don't
need you to do their work for them. Let them know when something may be an
infringement.

They may want to have their own say in the matter, which is why I suggest you
tell _them_ your concerns, instead of going straight to the ISP.

Again, they're quite capable of defending themselves. Your alerting them to
infractions of which they may not be aware is a public service. Your
involvement any further is an intrusion into an issue that is really only a
matter to be decided between two parties: the offender and offended.

No, my simple resolution is to let people control their own copyright's
distribution. I have nothing against informing parties of possible injuries,
and would consider such a public service. After that, the ball's in their court
and they have a variety of options they can pursue, which includes ignoring the
offender (such is their right), or asking the offender to desist, or contacting
their ISP, or taking legal actions. Note that these are all actions that the
copyright holders themselves may take. By contacting ISPs yourself, you're
going over their heads and actually _reducing_ their level of control over
their product.

Erm, folks like me? Would that be college students? Or long-haired people?
Mathematicians? You're going to have to be a lot more specific here.
