Re: Snivelling Turlettes
QC, my turn. Y'mind turning off the insult engine long enough to answer a
few questions?

No. I don't think that the copyight holders will stop you. Then again, if
you didn't report to the ISP's, I don't believe that many of the old
copyright holders would bother to stop the "pirates" either.
How do you know that the copyright holders even care about these old
copyrights?
By what right do you act in the capacity of the SPA?
I've also got a hypothetical question for you. Suppose we lived across the
street from each other. Suppose I were the type to normally leave my garage
door open, exposing my yard tools to the view of everyone. Suppose I had an
old fashioned push mower that you'd constantly see someone stealing. Suppose
that after alerting me to the problem, I make no attempt to protect my
property. Do you then take it upon yourself to call the police for me?
I submit to you that this is exactly what you're doing when you alert an ISP
about a violation without the violated entity's permission. While I'm sure
I'd appreciate the sentiment, I'd also be equally irritated about you
sticking your nose where it didn't belong. What you might be missing in all
this is that I may have a reason for letting this person or persons steal my
property. Though the reasoning may be beyond you, it is not on you to stop
an action against me that I myself choose not to stop.
Everything in life is a choice. Even inaction is the result of choosing not
to act.
