yeah. privacy and so on again. is it illegal to use software that noone
hasn't been sold for years? i think companies must make their software
freeware if they can't sell it any more. what about companies that have
been closed, but their software is still copyrighted and noone knows
who the heck holds the license?
about asimov: yeah, it's not the best(or was not), but was the only big
apple ii archive on the net. the iigs fairway is good, but there are
lots of cracked programs on it, so is it a legal site?
i just think the apple ii community must start collecting apple ii
software, no matter how, just because in a few years there won't be any
copyrighted software for the Apple II, but there won't be any apple ii
software around, too. it's sad, but it's true. does any of you people
keep his old apple and use it? don't you all have pcs at home? this is
called progress and it can't be stopped. But hey I like Apple IIs. my
first computer was an apple ii and i still love it. so why shouldn't i
try to keep the memory about this computer. why should we let people
put their apple ii software in the trash, but not keep it or give it to
others? there were thousands and thousands of games and programs
written for the apple ii and we(the apple community) have just a very
little part of it. do you know that if i ask other computer maniacs
about the apple ii 8 of every 10 say they haven't heard about it. and
the other 2 say it wasn't a computer at all! people even don't know
what a treasure this computer was in it's days of glory.
what's the apple community now? we are a bunch of fools saying "apple
ii forever!" and we think these words will help us save the apple ii.
we must do something and not only keep saying the same meaningless
words!
that's what i think.
