ethernet card discussion

All this vaporware about a better, cheaper ethernet card reminds me of a
earlier discussion about a vga card.  While we had a real card, albeit not
perfect, there was all this talk about a new card that would soon be revealed. 
So while people waited to see the second card, the first card got little play,
the people who created it decided not to support it because no one bought it. 
Then the second card never appeared.  

The talk about a vaporware card that never materialized ruined it for all of
us.  So I vote that we support the card we have, until such time as a real
alternative is on the market.
