Nope, but this sure does:
 "'It may seem like a bravado thing to do,' says Piquette, who prior to
being interviewed for this article had never heard of abandonware..."

Most of these sites explicitly call themselves "abandonware" sites.  How
could the leader of Microsoft anti-piracy have failed to recognize
"abandonware" as a red-flag word and not at least committed it to
memory?

It's all speculation either way.  You're speculating that they are
telling the truth; I'm speculating that they're just saying what the
*have* to say whether it is the absolute truth or not.
