I don't think there's a single vogon (does anyone besides QC claim that
that title?) who would mind a new non-Apple Apple 2. There's nothing
illegal about cloning an Apple 2. Just don't rip off Apple's firmware or
implementation.

Wasn't this part of UCITA? This shouldn't apply unless your state passed
it. Considering how crippling such a restriction would be I doubt it'll
get anywhere.

You can't patent something like that, silly. Patents are for inventions
( I don't know how buisness processes and the like got tacked on). You
can't even trademark those individually.
