iMac/PC compatibility questions

Hi,
I hope someone can help me--I am a longtime pc user wanting to make a
switch to an iMac.  What will become of my hundreds of
Word/Access/PowerPoint/Excel files (MS Office 97), currently on zip
disks?  Will they transfer seamlessly to the Mac environment if I have
Office installed on my iMac?  Any tips, warnings, or other advice you
can give me about making the transition from pc to Mac?
