If you're using a Q660av then you're using the new manual inject kind. If you
were using a Centris 660av it'd have the old Sony autoinject kind. Those do
tend to make more reliable disks.
Apple used to have in the TIL an article about such problems. AV Macs were
even more quirky about floppies than most. I recall simply installing more
memory in my 840av made it more prone to problems.
You may have to do some asking around locally to see if someone can get you
around this chicken and egg problem. Surely someone around there has an Apple
II and can hook you up with boot disks.
