Thanks for the suggestions; I managed to track down the second of the
games I mentioned.  It's called "Islands of Beta", and was published by
Milliken Publishing Co. in 1984.  I searched around on the web & found out
that they also published a game called "Alpha Adventure" in 1986, which I
think might be the first game I was looking for.  Does anyone know where I
could get a disk image (couldn't find it on asimov).  Thanks again,
