sider problems!

OK. I matched the xebec card and sider d2 hard drive together. There was no
cable, so I bought a db25 male to db-25 male cable and it fit just right. When
I boot from slot 7, a bunch of garbage appeared on the screen. This is the same
thing that happens when you boot a bad disk, so I assumed the disk was
corrupted. I downloaded the sider low-level format program, but when that is
run it says "getting errors while trying to format the sider" I know that it
can find the drive, because the LED on the front blinks once before the message
comes up. I hear of people having siders with 'db-37' cables, but there is no
db-37 connector on the back just (2) db-25's. Also, what are the jumper
settings on this drive? Why does it sound like this drive is in a constant
self-seek mode? It sounds like the heads are doing a sequential seek, but the
stepper motor spindle is not turning .
