What kind of Mac 7100 is this? A Performa? PowerMac? I have a PowerMac
7100 and this works for me.

Are you sure it is totally unreadable? Is there any way you can see if the
Apple II can at least get a file off the disk?

If you're feeling bold you can try finding a Sony 1.44MB floppy drive and
replacing the drive in you Mac with it. The early Macs had Sony drives and
they seem to be able to write ProDOS disks better.

Some Macs simply can't do this. I don't understand why.
