It has been a while since I got my Focus. I think now all they
offer is the 60 meg drives. This is enough for most things but
on a GS, you can always use more. :-)
Unless you are very technically minded, I recommend the prebuilt
system. It is fairly easy to damage something unless you really
know what you are doing.
As for the extra software, mine came with GSOS and utilities. I
don't use the internet utilities since my net connection is on
a network and (IMHO) the GS has better things to do than the
net. Anyhow, for beginners, I recommend the software, otherwise
you'll have to look around for a used copy.
One small note. I used a null modem connection to back things
up on my PC. You may want to consider something like this if
you get the software, especially if you don't have GSOS on disk,
in which case, you need to make a bootable floppy with the utils
you need to restore the drive.
