I would reccomend the 2nd option, otherwise you have to find a Hard drive
to put on the card and then you'd also miss out on all the preloaded
software they put on, like the Operating System.

I have 3 Focus drives.  I love 'em.  I have experienced the same issues
above in spades.  I have built and rebuilt my first focus many times.  Now
that I have 3, it is alot easier to reload from my 'backup' drive.   :)

First thing you should do when you get the drive is make a startup disk
and back up the preloaded software.  Do NOT mess with anything until
then.  If you don't heed this advice, call us, we'll help you out.  ;)

I have also had problems booting my focuses from slot 7 on my and a
friends IIgs machines.
