You need to provide more detail. Make sure it's plugged into a working
outlet. The power switch is in a strange place: on the right side, at top
middle. Try pushing it several times to make sure you have it "on". You
should hear a buzz from the degaussing coil when you first power it on, and
the crackling of the high voltage. Hold the back of your hand near the
screen and see if you feel static moving the hairs on the back of your hand.
Do any of those things happen? All that could work, and still no picture if
the brightness and/or contrast are turned down, so try those controls.
Report back with the results of those checks and we can give you more help.

You need #16, which gives info on monitors.
You can also pick up a cheap/free composite monitor, the IIgs has an output
for that too.
