This is exactly the right way to do it. You're smarter than the so-called
people who think they're clever. I've been on ebay for a while (with a very
respectable +85 feedback rating and ZERO negatives). The majority of bidders
on ebay are honest as are the sellers. Sure there are crooks, but it's the
same everywhere. And especially in the Apple II market you'll find not so many
people willing to bid on something they might get stuck with. (Watch out for
memoribilia items and art -- that's where the crooks are usually).
You gotta think: ONLY Apple II people will bid on this type of item. It's not
a wide market item (like an autographed Pavel Bure card or something). You're
safer here than elsewhere. Look at the person's feedback. There should be no
more than one negative for every 50 to 100 transactions under the old system.
Now that it's all transaction based, it should be one or less per 100 for a
'safe' transaction. Plus many of us accept PayPal/BillPoint so your chance of
getting screwed is less. Either of these services yanks your right to accept
if they have problems.

PS: Coming soon (next week sometime) is my next batch of Apple II software on
e-bay. Look for more classics.
