chris,
pffft!!!
Paul,
i get the "hair on the back of the hand" thing. i think i can hear
crackling when i turn it off, but not necessarily when i turn it on. it
has a very faint electric "humm." i've fiddled with the dials on the
side and back and still have a black screen.
ok, i've got a copy of the FAQ and i'm saving buying another monitor as
last resort. i'll head over to your website after i leave here.
thanks for all your suggestions. :-)
Bill,
(don't i remember you from Genie?) if it was a fuse, would the
screen have been getting dimmer over time? when i used it last, i
was almost certain it was getting dimmer but i wasn't positive since
i was also using the Mac and i thought it may have been an "in
comparison" sort of thing. but i'll give yours a try, too. and i
think i will give it that "two day wait" since i don't want to wind up
as "fried tuey." heh. or i could ask my hubby to try it. not that i'm
trying to get rid of him, just that he's a little more electrically
adept than i am. :-)
thanks guys. i'll check back in a couple days and give you an update.
tuey
