My hard drive is finally set up!

Well, I was finally able to set up my 40 meg hard drive last night. UGH! How
many weeks did it take me? I have to say that setting up my Apple to
transfer files via Zlink/HyperTerminal was by far, hands down, the most
frustrating computer job that I've ever worked on... and I'm MIS of an NT
and AS/400 network! Setting up an entire LAN/WAN, with routers, bridges,
fire walls, backup schedules, query schedules, VPN, network printers, fiber
optics, T3's, etc., from scratch, is by far less frustrating (for me) than
setting up simple file transfers between my PC and Apple. Maybe it was
because I was coming home with my brain scrambled from work, or it could be
that I've only had a half and hour here and there, at a time, to focus on my
Apple but I did learn that, when it comes to my Apple IIe, nothing is as
easy as it first seems, and nothing works the first time.

I also learned that I have two bad Super Serial cards (out of three,) and I
only have one functioning SCSI hard drive (out of four.) Having bad parts in
the mix does NOT make things easier. Someone should put that little fact in
A2 FAQ.

Big sigh of relief. Frustrating as the whole process was for me, I did learn
a lot of useful things about how my Apple works, and now I can transfer
Shrinkit files, and I have a functioning hard drive on my IIe. I'm glad that
I can move on to a new A2 project now.

I would also like to say THANK YOU to all of the patient people who helped
me get this job figured out, and for not publicly ridiculing me when I
asked, over and over again, for help.

Thank you all very, very much.
