The barriers are machine speed and software. For 19200 baud, At 1MHz,
ZLink can handle just 650 or so char/second. Going to 2.8MHz boosts speed to
about 820 char/second. At 10MHz (via a ZipGSx) speed is around 1500
char/second.
Tests with ZLink showed no noticable difference between transfers to RAM
disk and transfers to a Focus 80MB hard disk.
The easiest cure is to transfer Modem MGR. (It's available on Ground and
Trenco.) For 19200 baud, tests show that Modem MGR transfer speed is around
1500 char/second whether machine speed is 1MHz or 10MHz.
