32MB is the current limit with ProDOS. You can format part of a drive in
ProDOS (maybe 3-4 volumes) and the rest as a single HFS volume. Supertimer
frequently recommends the 'big HFS volume' approach.

There is almost certainly a way. For instance, a utility for a tape
backup system might automatically move stuff to tape, partition the disk, and
offer options for moving stuff back. I do not recall any utils which try to
preserve data on a disk while partitioning it; maybe someone else knows of
one.

Probably, you had it formatted with one ProDOS partition and the rest in
HFS. This would make sense under older versions of GS System which greatly
limited the number of volumes you could mount. A 120MB drive would work fine
as four ProDOS volumes or two ProDOS volumes and a single larger HFS volume.
