Hmm, that (DIP) switch should be on the Focus card. if you have an
accelerator card as well, disable DMA there, too. I vaguely remember
exceptions to the 4Mb rule, but I'd go the safe route and either
disable DMA or downsize the memory card to 4Mb - that's more than
enough for about every task anyway.
DMA problems typically show up after some time the machine was booted
and memory is filling up beyond the lower 4Mb. You should be able to
trigger that behaviour in the IIgs Finder by copying large amount of
files.
